A very, very long time ago there was a great empire ruling over almost the entire known world. Its power was near to infinite and its structures of politics, urban life and military made it impossible to be broken. At last it collapsed due to its own size and the corrupcy of their leaders. Nobody remembers the name of that empire today and only on the top shelves of libraries where noone never ever goes would one find the dates of its dimensions, people and rulers. But in every nation on the Sto Plains you could identify tiny fragments of its culture. Be it the way buildings are aligned in their cities some forms of military service or merely the title of the ruling person of a city.

Also it is not always that clear to the non-locals who will inherit what part of land after the owners death. There are tribes knowing that sons will take better care of the acres in the end and those which lean more towards a feminine direction of interpretation.
